Range Rover vs. the Competition
New Range Rover vs. BMW X7 and Toyota Land Cruiser
For decades, the Range Rover has been the signature icon of the premium off-road SUV realm. Over the years, competitors have emerged. The reborn Land Cruiser from Toyota is one of them, and the BMW X7 is another crew hauler for expeditions. But can these SUVs compare to the new Range Rover? At Land Rover Nashville, we've put together a detailed comparison so Tennesseans can make informed decisions.
Middle Tennessee off-roading expeditions will never be the same seated in one of these new Range Rover models for sale in Brentwood along Old Hickory Blvd., just off I-65. Take a closer look at how the new Range Rover compares to the the BMW X7 and Toyota Land Cruiser.
Safety - Range Rover vs. BMW X7 & Toyota Land Cruiser
Drive confidently around the Four-Forty Parkway circling the Nashville Metro in a new Range Rover, as sophisticated driver assistance features look out for you. Traffic Sign Recognition - paired with an Adaptive Speed Limiter - can intuitively display road signs on your instrument cluster or Head-Up Display. Other notable safety features for the new Range Rover include Park Assist, a 3D Surround Camera, Rear Collision Monitor with Occupant Protection Assist, Blind Spot Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist, and an exclusive ClearSight Interior Rear-View Mirror not offered by the competition.
There's even a unique Clear Exit Monitor so you can step out of your Range Rover with confidence upon arrival at your Nashville destination on Broadway. Road Sign Assist and Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control are two comparative features offered by the Land Cruiser through the Toyota Safety Senseâ„¢ 3.0 suite. There are fewer parking features for the Land Cruiser, and a Head-Up Display is missing. That feature only becomes available as part of a separate option package. The BMW X7's safety roster also has fewer features but does package Active Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, and Frontal Collision Warning with City Collision Mitigation as standard.

Interior & Technology - Range Rover vs. BMW X7 & Toyota Land Cruiser
Cabin Amenities
Your crew will appreciate the upscale interior of the new Range Rover, which provides an exclusive Cabin Air Purification Pro system featuring nanoe™X technology and PM 2.5 filtration. The four-zone Climate Control setup in the Range Rover keeps fellow travelers cool and comfortable. The BMW X7 counters with automatic 4-zone climate control, while the Land Cruiser features three-zone automatic climate control. Family road trips can feature a concert-like atmosphere matching the hum of the Music City with the Range Rover offering a Meridian™ Signature Sound System with 34 speakers. The BMW X7's HiFi Sound System has 10 speakers, and there are only 14 speakers for the Land Cruiser's JBL® Premium Audio system.
Expect more quiet and serene explorations in the Range Rover, thanks to next-generation Active Noise Cancellation, an exclusive feature. Perforated Windsor leather seats set the new Range Rover apart. Choose between Sensafin or Merino leather upholstery for the BMW X7. There's no special upholstery for the Land Cruiser, which comes with premium leather-trimmed seats.

Cargo Space
The Range Rover also wins big in cargo space. There's no packing light on future road trips, as the Range Rover offers 41 cubic feet of cargo space, topping the Land Cruiser at 38 cubic feet. When you opt for the Range Rover Long Wheelbase configuration, you get to play with a max cargo volume of 93 cubic feet. This tops the X7's total cargo capacity of 90 cubic feet.
Displays & Passenger Entertainment
For award-winning infotainment, choose the new Range Rover, which gives Nashville travelers access to next-generation Pivi Pro with a 13.1-inch curved floating glass touchscreen. A 12.3-inch Interactive Driver Display is also included. Every X7 features a BMW Curved Display that merges a 14.9-inch central information display with a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster. The Land Cruiser offers large displays but has smaller standard screens. A Land Cruiser offers a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, but a 7-inch display is standard. While a unique Multi-Terrain Monitor is offered and a 12.3-inch touchscreen via Toyota Audio Multimedia is available, the standard 8-inch touchscreen is smaller than the Range Rover. The Range Rover surges past the SUV competition with its Rear Seat Entertainment. Exclusive twin 11.4-inch high-definition screens offer screen mirroring, allowing the kids to watch their favorite films on long journeys. Wireless Apple CarPlay®/Android Auto™ compatibility is a shared tech feature among these new SUVs.

Performance - Range Rover vs. BMW X7 & Toyota Land Cruiser
Fuel Economy & Engines
The new Range Rover is powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine that delivers 395 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. The comparable 3.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo inline-six engine in the BMW X7 xDrive40i is rated for 375 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque. The Land Cruiser is a hybrid SUV that generates 326 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque through an i-FORCE MAXâ„¢ turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder hybrid powertrain. Choose a Range Rover SV configuration for a new SUV that unleashes 606 horsepower. A Range Rover nets 24 miles per gallon, which matches the fuel economy of the X7 and is comparable to the Land Cruiser at 25 mpg.

Towing & Off-Roading
BMW X7 SUVs have a towing capacity of 7,500 pounds, and a Toyota Land Cruiser can pull up to 6,000 pounds. Both figures fall short of the Range Rover, which allows Brentwood families to tow trailers up to 7,715 pounds on vacations. Every Land Cruiser is equipped with full-time 4WD, but Multi-Terrain Select offers fewer settings for traversing rough terrain outside the concrete jungle of Nashville. The Range Rover is a 4x4 SUV with All Wheel Drive and eight terrain modes. The X7 comes with xDrive, BMW intelligent all-wheel drive.
The 11.6 inches of maximum ground clearance in the Range Rover is great for off-roading and tops the competition, which both check in at 8.7 inches. A maximum wading depth of 35.4 inches gives the Range Rover superior water fording capability for crossing Middle Tennessee creeks and streams in your path. The Land Cruiser can water ford up to 27.5 inches, while the X7 is not built for such adventures.

Design Quality - Range Rover vs. BMW X7 & Toyota Land Cruiser
There are more options to choose from with the new Range Rover, available in Standard Wheelbase, Long Wheelbase, and seven-seat Long Wheelbase configurations. The X7 is a seven-passenger, three-row SUV, while every Land Cruiser seats five passengers - despite offering exceptional outward trail visibility for fellow explorers.
The new Range Rover has a more reductive design and is free from superfluous detail. A uniquely distinctive rear design has an uninterrupted edge. There are also world-first hidden-until-lit taillights for the new Range Rover. These appear as vivid red LEDs in operation and a distinctive gloss black graphic when not in use. The competition cannot compare to the Range Rover's world-class design.
Pricing - Range Rover vs. BMW X7 & Toyota Land Cruiser
The Toyota Land Cruiser checks in at $56,700, while the BMW X7 is listed for $86,700. The new Range Rover has a starting price of $110,100. We're proud to be a Range Rover SUV dealer serving Nashville with upfront pricing.
